Meeting Details

The room for the meeting is secured until 4:00 p.m. so that conversations can continue beyond the established end time of 3:00 p.m.

Joanne Berg, vice provost for Enrollment Management and Registrar from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, will attend the meeting and present her experiences and role with identity and access management at the University of Wisconsin. Joanne's biography is included below. Kevin Morooney, vice provost for Information Technology, will kick-off the meeting and provide an update on IAM within ITS.

The goals for this meeting are to identify implementation teams needed for the next phase of IAM and to continue to broaden the community of IAM aware individuals. A more detailed agenda will be provided during the week of September 22.

Joanne E. Berg

Joanne E. Berg (B.S. University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, Executive M.B.A., University of Wisconsin-Madison) serves as the vice provost for Enrollment Management and as the University’s Registrar. As vice provost, she is responsible for the units that make up the Division of Enrollment Management including the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Office of Student Financial Services and the office responsible for the Integrated Student Information Systems (ISIS Central). Berg defines the Enrollment Management mission as providing access to higher education and supporting the academic mission of the university.

Berg began her work at the university in 1987 with the Graduate School where she served as assistant and then associate dean for graduate admissions and academic services. Before coming to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Berg was the Director of Admissions at the University of Puget Sound School of Law in Tacoma, Washington (now Seattle University). Berg currently serves on the board of directors for the American Association of University (AAU) Registrars, serves as the co-chair of the campus Identity Management Leadership Group (IMLG) and serves on a national group of IT and student affairs professions interested in identity management. Berg also serves as lead communications group faciliator for the campus Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This past year Berg published "Social Networking Technologies: A "Poke" for Campus Services" in the March/April 2007 Educause Review with colleagues Kathy Christoph (Director of Academic Technology) and Lori Berquam (Dean of Students).
