Roles and Groups in PASS
Roles are groups of objects with attributes, or characteristics that correspond with one's role, in PASS.
Role types can be approved (financial signature card) or unapproved (business notification); role categories: financial, academic, research, or human resource. Roles are managed via WebRAT.
Groups are collections of objects in Penn State's Directory; there are three types of groups: Standing, Course, and User Managed Groups (UMGs). There are two types of UMGs: functional and personal. Groups are managed through https://umg.its.psu.edu/.
