Students: Get Connected at Penn State
Have your Penn State Access Account? Your Access Account is your digital identity at Penn State. It allows you to access many online Penn State services. If you don’t have one, contact ITS Accounts Services at 814-865-4772.
Living in the Residence Halls? At University Park, ResCom, your IT support group, will provide you with a CD containing instructions and software. Many of the other Penn State campuses also have IT support on campus.
Living off campus? Ask your landlord about Internet service. If it’s not provided, you'll need to purchase service from a local Internet Service Provider (ISP). Check the town phone book for local providers; the ISP you choose will provide instructions on how to connect to the Internet.
No ISP? You can connect to Penn State through your computer’s modem and a phone line. However, be aware that this slow connection may not meet your needs, and you are responsible for any phone charges that are incurred. For additional details about dial-up service and recommended phone numbers for your location, check with your local IT support group on campus.
