Internet Explorer 7
The most recent release of the Internet Explorer (IE) Web browser, version 7.0, is available as a free update in recent Windows automatic updates and will be included in the Windows Vista operating system. ITS cautions the University community that individuals may encounter problems with the new version of IE, depending on which Web services they use. Since IE Version 7.0 became available, ITS has been testing it for compatibility with our services. Because some incompatibilities have been discovered, ITS recommends that Internet Explorer users hold off on upgrading to Version 7.0 until they determine their Web applications work with IE7. ITS will continue to test compatibility of our applications with IE7 and post them here.
Departments and other Penn State organizations should continue to test the compatibility of their own organizational specific Web-based applications. If you would like us to include your application here, please submit the results via the IE7 collaboration site.
Those who choose to upgrade to Internet Explorer 7, may find an alternate browser (like Mozilla Firefox) useful if they experience capatibility problems.
For more information on IE7, see Microsoft's Internet Explorer 7 Web site.
If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the ITS Help Desk or your college/department IT support staff.
