On Saturday, June 21, between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., Information Technology Services (ITS) will migrate all POP users of the incoming mail server, email.psu.edu, to a new and improved e-mail system. During this time, email.psu.edu will not be available for checking or sending e-mail until after the expected completion time of 9:00 a.m.
It is anticipated that the updated e-mail system will improve the performance, stability, and reliability of Penn State's e-mail service via the email.psu.edu mail server. It should be noted that computer users will not need to make any changes to their respective e-mail programs/clients related to this upgrade. On a related note, both of the University's mail servers (mail.psu.edu and email.psu.edu) will now exist on one system.
Inquiries and requests for assistance should be directed to ITS Help Desk staff at helpdesk@psu.edu. Information about the e-mail services managed and provisioned by ITS can be found in the ITS Knowledge Base at http://kb.its.psu.edu/.
For more information, please contact Karen Hackett (kmh@psu.edu).
