On Thursday, September 18, 2008, the dial-up modem pool at University Park (814-863-2222), managed by Information Technology Services (ITS), will be unavailable between midnight and 5:00 a.m. The modem pool needs to be taken offline because the communications vendor for this technology must relocate a small section of its State College-Clearfield south route cable, due to a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PDOT) project. Services are expected to be restored no later than 5:00 a.m.
To learn more about Penn State's dial-up service, and to view each of the related phone numbers go to: http://css.its.psu.edu/internet/dialup/. Information on all methods for Internet access is available at http://css.its.psu.edu/internet/connections.html. Inquiries and requests for assistance should be directed to ITS Help Desk staff at helpdesk@psu.edu.
For more information, please contact Karen M. Hackett (kmh@psu.edu).
