Oracle Calendar Password Synchronization

Oracle Calendar is a calendaring and scheduling client, which allows its users to create meetings, events and compare schedules with others using the group agenda, as well as manage the scheduling and use of high-demand resources such as conference rooms and equipment. The Oracle Collaboration Suite Calendar service is available to Penn State academic units and individual faculty and staff for a nominal fee, through an agreement between Penn State and Oracle Corporation.

To change the offline calendar password:

  1. Open Oracle Calendar (make sure that you see the 'Sign-in' window. If you do not see it, look for a cancel button).
  2. Change the 'connect to' line to Off-line.
  3. Put your user ID and password (use your old password).
  4. Click sign-in.
  5. In the 'in-tray' window, click on the 'tools' menu.
  6. Select change password.
  7. Type your old password.
  8. Now, type your new password.
  9. Close Oracle Calendar.
  10. Open Oracle Calendar.
  11. Change the 'connect to' line to connect to the calendar server.
  12. Log in with your new password.

Individuals who own handheld devices that sync with Oracle calendar must also update their passwords in their sync clients when they change their Access Account password.

Windows XP users of Palm devices using Oracle Calendar Sync for Palm:

On your PC:

  1. Click Start ->Oracle Calendar Sync for Palm ->Settings.
  2. Click the "Sign In" category on the left side of the window.
  3. In the center of the window type your new password in the password box.

Users of SyncML/Oracle Mobile Data Sync:

On your Treo 650:

  1. Open the SyncML program.
  2. Go to settings.
  3. Click -set- next to Password.
  4. Enter your new password.

Oracle Connector for Outlook:

On your PC:

These instructions apply to Outlook used with the option for offline files or working remotely.

  1. Click Start -> All Programs -> Oracle Connector Configuration Wizard -> Oracle Connector for Outlook.
  2. In the Calendar section type in your new password in the password box.
  3. Click Next, Click Finish.

Upon launch, the Outlook software will prompt for the user ID and password if it is unable to connect to their Oracle calendar.
