Access Accounts for Non-Credit Courses or Seminars
Information Technology Services (ITS) will provide Penn State Access Accounts for a fee for non-credit courses or seminars sponsored by another Penn State unit. ITS will not bill individuals; the unit organizing the course or seminar will be billed for these services. That unit may incorporate those costs into their registration fee or absorb them at its discretion.
Fee structure:
- Authentication only: $3.00 per User ID per month
- Full service (authentication, email, personal web space, and/or other services): $6.00 per User ID per month
- There is no prorating of these rates. Any portion of a calendar month is rounded up to a full month's fee.
Access to standard student web space and residence hall connections (with proper authorization from Housing and Food Services) may be included with a full service account, but should be requested in advance.
The names and social security numbers of each user must be given to the ITS Computer Accounts Office at the time of the request. If this information is not complete, the accounts will not be guaranteed. It is recommended that this information be submitted at least two weeks before the accounts are needed; however, three business days minimum are required.
The ITS Computer Accounts Office will activate Demonstration Access Accounts for one day or less at no charge for the purpose of demonstration only.
* At University Park and Capital, printing used by these accounts will be charged at the rate in effect at the time; currently that rate is seven (7) cents per page (where a page is one piece of paper). These charges will also be billed to the organizing unit.
