Short Term Access Accounts for Non-Credit Courses or Seminars

Information Technology Services (ITS) will provide Penn State Access Accounts for a fee for non-credit courses or seminars or conferences sponsored by another Penn State unit. A Short Term Access Account (STAA) is a Penn State Access Account with a short lifetime (less than 45 days) and can provide for either authentication only or full access to a variety of Penn State services. ITS will not bill individuals; the unit organizing the course or seminar will be billed for these services. That unit may incorporate those costs into their registration fee or absorb them at its discretion.

Fee structure:

Access to standard student web space and residence hall connections (with proper authorization from Housing and Food Services) may be included with a full service account, but should be requested in advance.

The names and PSU id numbers of each user must be given to the ITS Computer Accounts Office at the time of the request. If this information is not complete, the accounts will not be guaranteed. It is recommended that this information be submitted at least two weeks before the accounts are needed; however, three business days minimum are required.
