The ITS Marketing and Communications group has completed another very successful year. And, our reputation for creativity and productivity, and overarching philosophy of promoting a unified ITS image, continues to grow. We are very proud of the strong collaborative spirit and sense of teamwork that has led to our success.
MAC continued to adhere to our mission to create greater visibility and understanding of ITS products and services; to help University students, faculty and staff use information technology more effectively in their academic, and personal and professional lives; and to develop and ensure a consistent and professional image, identity, and standards for ITS Web sites, publications, events, and promotional campaigns.
This past year MAC faced several new challenges: targeted emphasis on marketing ITS services to undergraduate students, promotion for the Penn State Computer Store and Applied Information Technologies (AIT), the very visible Information Privacy and Security (IPAS) and Password Change projects, and development of an interactive ITS community. MAC met of each of these communication challenges with enthusiasm and unique solutions.
As MAC has grown, both in portfolio scope and staff size, we have had to address workflow and project management issues. This year we reorganized the structure of MAC by instituting a project review group along with function-specific work groups: Web, graphics, dynamic media, and writers. We also instituted a formal work request process, which has enabled us to help our clients focus on the purpose and expected outcomes for a project. Not only has this process helped eliminate confusion and better defined the scope of a project, it has created a more professional image for MAC within ITS.
It has been a very busy, challenging and rewarding year.
