What is social networking?
Social networking Web sites such as Facebook and MySpace make it easy to meet people on a personal or professional level. By providing personal information using blogs, chat, e-mail, or instant messaging, you can meet new friends and communicate with others who share your interests. However, you should be aware that information you share is potentially available to the world -- friends and strangers alike. Although social network sites create an illusion of intimacy, they are not private. Learn how to protect yourself.

Jack's Blog
Well, I graduated last spring... and InfoTech never called, but I have faith. I have great skills and Charles practically offered me the job on the spot in the interview. I put tons of resumes out there, and I don't mind washing dishes at the restaurant while I wait . . . eventually someone will hire me. If nothing happens, I can always move home with Mom. And meanwhile, it's party time! I'm posting all my party photos online. Anybody can see them. Hopefully my mom won't, but how would she know where to look?

InfoTech found you made a jackass of yourself online and dumped you as a candidate. Another thing... get your act together, because you're not moving home. GET A JOB! --Mom
