Video tutorials through lynda.com, Inc.

Please review the following details about this service (at least read the headlines!) before going to the Penn State access page on the lynda.com Web site.

Certificates of Completion are not available.

When you get to the lynda.com, Inc. page to access the free tutorials for Penn State, you may see ads for Certificates of Completion. Please be aware that these are not available per Penn State's license agreement. In order to provide the tutorials at no cost, the agreement requires individuals to track their own progress. (See "How do I track my progress" section below.)

What is lynda.com, Inc.?

Lynda.com, Inc. offers over a thousand video tutorials on leading software topics like Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SQL, Drupal, audio and video editing applications, ColdFusion, operating systems, and many more. These high-quality tutorials are taught by industry experts and available 24/7 for convenient, self-paced learning.

How do I access the tutorials?

Go to the Penn State access page on the lynda.com Web site, and you will be asked to enter your Penn State user ID and password. Once you log in, click on any tutorial to get started. If you have questions or problems, contact the ITS Help Desk at 814-865-HELP or lyndatraining@psu.edu.

How do I track my progress?

Because the license is for all of us at Penn State, the lynda.com, Inc. system does not track individual usage. If you choose to use the free service, be sure to keep track of the courses you take using whatever system works best for you.
